July 12th
So today we rented a private boat to take us to some swimming spots away from the tourists. The cost to book the boat for the entire day, with skipper and fantastic lunch of chicken, pasta and salad was (drum roll please...) $55 Turkish Lira each, which converted to Canadian dollars is basically $30.00 a person. We cruised to 4 different spots. The water kept getting a deeper blue colour the further out to the Mediterranean we got. And the water temperature was just right. We were given bread to feed the fish and saw the entrance to a cave which you used to be able to swim into (but no longer allowed).
It was just a fun relaxing day as the following photos hopefully depict.
The Water Lily, our home away from home for the day.
Unlike the Titanic, this ship didn't sink and we got to pose as the "King and Queen of the World!"
Murat and Charlene blocking the scenery (just kidding)
Could that be Captain Morgan or just Steve striking the pose?
Only buried treasure here are the hundreds of Turkish Lira that get thrown in by tourists every day and then scooped up by the locals every night. Nice gig.
Our two cast aways, Samantha and Sheryl
Could that be a mermaid?
If it is, we'll find her.
No worries, we're not being boarded by pirates, just the ice cream man.
And of course lunch was devoured by all
And one last dive before we call it a day (note to self, definitely going on a diet when I get home)
Yep, definitely better get that Stromer going when you get back! Looks like a great day (and very reasonable)! Check your email to see what I did today.
